i have only had swainsons and keel billed. i woud advise stay away from swainsons unless you are in a rural or jungle like setting, as it is swainsons nature to sound their call (jungle song) repeatedly for as long as they are not in contact with their keeper. i kept my swainsons with my keels and the swainsons still always called out and at the time i was living in the city so i had to sell her. now i am in the suburbs but i still wouldnt get a swainson until i like move to somewhere more tropical and jungly.
i can't believe complain about things like when paired toucans will be less tame (duh!!!) and other aspects of their nature, like it is natural for the male to attack the female during and after nesting duties. that's just the way they are. becare there are lots of scammers out there, i arranged a trade with a girl in Missouri years ago of my 2nd keel bill for a pair of emerald toucanets but she never came through on her end of the deal once i shipped my keel bill. that was like a $2500+++ loss. she claimed the first keel bill i sent her died but i don't know how credible someone is when they breach a verbal contract so grossly. the more exotic the animals you are dealing the more shadiness you will find there, people if you are going to adopt or buy toucans/toucanettes please do it face to face and please do it for the sake of the species, ie please consider pairing the exotic bird and breeding it not for profit but for reducing the incidence of wild caught which still goes on in most every country on this planet!
