The only hope now is to bombard the white house with letters against this now.
The real question is what we do after it passes. There will be tons of people who no longer want their animals, and of course, the price for these animals will drop astronomically. The real question is, where do you all stand... We will not give up our animals. They are our family, and we intend to keep the promise we made to keep them the rest of their natural born lives, no matter the means we have to take... Although moving out of the country is starting to sound better every day! But for now, we will stay here, and maintain the animals we have. I can tell you now, in close states like MD, PA and NJ, there will still probably be an interstate transfer, it just won't be shipping. The state doesn't have the money to monitor every car crossing it's border for illegal contraband. If drug dealers can do it, so can we! lol We'll find our ways. Welcome to the black market!!

We've already been sending letters and it passed, well not passed as it's not a bill, the rule change went into effect today.

"Under the rule, Burmese pythons, yellow anacondas, and the northern and southern African pythons are declared an “injurious” species which makes it illegal to import them or sell them across state."

"Ashe said the Service will continue to consider listing as injurious the five other species of nonnative snakes that the agency also proposed in 2010 – the reticulated python, boa constrictor, DeSchauensee’s anaconda, green anaconda and Beni anaconda. Once that process is completed, the Service will publish final determinations on those species."

And how the hell does this get rid of the small populations in the Everglades?
Doesn't this now encourage people to dump massive amounts of breeders and hatchlings since you cannot move across state lines with them and you cannot sell them?
Getting sick of this country.

Pretty much. If they actually cared about the Everglades, they'd be spending their time, effort, and money to...y'know...HELP the Everglades. They could help remove the snakes from the wild. But, of course, helping the Everglades has always been simply a front. The politicians don't actually care.

The amount of animals that will be released all over the nation is going to be astronomical. The things they come up with are assanine

Similar to the State of Hawaii ban of exportation of Jackson chameleons. The state government thought that by banning the export their local population would decrease. Would love to see some current statistical data on that project.
