By looking at the leather dunners,you can notice much more detail to the pattern,a silkie could only make that pattern better all over.

I agree...the leather dunners show much more detail because of the reduced scales. I imagine a silkie would show even more detail.

A. this guy has landed on my short DNB & DNS list of breeders and I don't even produce silks.

So Kevin after we talked I was thinking about the silk dunner thing. I don't think silks have scales at all. I looked at my guy under the microscope and they look more like pores. I predict that the silk gene will cancel out the dunner gene. But it will be fascinating to see what happens!

The scales will be gone, but the pattern will be super sharp & detailed. Imagine how clear and defined the spots on the legs, and the stripes on the tail will be...
