Phoenix man is first in the U.S. to receive new rattlesnake anti-venom

Phoenician Samuel Evans became the first patient to receive treatment from new rattlesnake anti-venom "Anavip" after a rattlesnake bit him while hiking.

This is not true. Bioclon has been available and used in the US for several years now.

Bioclon is name of the institute. They produce ANAVIP. The man from Phoenix is first one to use outside clinical trials. There ANASCORP for scorpion stings has been used in US since 2011.

Outside of clinical trials, Evans is the first patient in the United States to be treated with a new rattlesnake anti-venom that hit the market in October, when rattlesnakes were not in season. As a result, no patients were treated with the product when it first came out.

It is odd because I see 2 different times when it was approved by FDA. One says May 2013 and other says Oct 2018. Maybe state specific when it was allowed? Good to see you have cheaper option. Not cheap, just cheaper, lol.
