Son left for PNW, I'm so grateful that weather will be decent for his 3 day drive (with stops) with a wife, child, 2 cats and a pit bull. All of you affected by Dorian you are in my thoughts and prayers, please stay safe.

I think there is actually a good chance that Dorian won't even make landfall in the USA. They keep moving the forecast tracks such that this later one might indicate it is turning north before hitting Florida.

But they sure are hyping this one up.....

Yeah, the "official" forecast track is pushing the storm further east with landfall *maybe* in South Carolina or North Carolina.

There is a 11:00am update that shows virtually the same path. And the strength of the storm at landfall has been downgraded to a Cat 2.

Well, the forecast models are certainly looking better...

Hoooleee fook... sustained winds 180 mph as of 11 a.m.

I feel sorry for the folks hunkered down in the Bahamas.

Yeah, Dorian is now a Category 5 hurricane. Sure hope it makes that turn to the north and then hopefully head northeast out to sea.

Appears to be just a bit breezy around that hurricane center.

Found this link on another site. It combines radar, GIS data, and a bunch of other data streams such as webcam feeds into one map for tracking the hurricane.

Seems to be breaking up a bit. Definitely good news if it continues that trend.
