Best place to buy a venus fly trap?

Can anyone recommend an honest place online to get a healthy flytrap?

SandRgeckos.

Steve used to produce quite a few. I can't recall if that's the correct name of their company but they are/were active over at geckoforums. If that's not the correct name ask Marcia if she has contact info for Steve and Rose. I'm sure she has it.

Steve, have you checked places like Walmart, Kmart etc. Seems to me that I see them around town every so often.

carnivorousplants.org has seeds. It's a 30 dollar membership to get access to their seed bank but after that you get seeds packs for 3-6 dollars.

My membership expired but while I had it there were always plenty of droseras, sarracenias, and venus flytraps. Occasionally they'd have pinguicula and nepenthes available. They are wonderful and I've had a lot of seeds grow into beautiful plants from them.

They also have great forums and guides for growing carnivorous plants.

If you have a wholesale nursery lisc. and can meet the minimum order requirements (144 I think), plus shipping,
the company which produces the most Venus Fly Traps in the USA is Agristarts,
I have found that they thrive best when planted in true composted peat moss; not the dollar a bag stuff from the discount garden center labeled peat, but rather the good stuff. You may need to do a lot of searching of grower suppliers to find a good brand. I used to use European Peat for growing most carnivorous plants but with the rising costs of petroleum/shipping it is no longer cost effective.
davesgarden.com has a lot of good solid useful information for gardeners, from gardeners, the $5.00/yrly membership tends to weed out a lot of the rif-raf one may encounter on gardenweb.com.

Barry rice has an amazing FAQ at sarracenia.com and he goes into detail about how to grow them well.
