--Chondro enthusiasts please read this--

All chondro guys,
    I am about to start a new breeding project, and I need everybody's input to make it a success.  I am looking for importers of the absolute highest quality and integrity.  I want to start the project with high quality animals that are unrelated to any other in the country.  Obviously it is of great importance to use the best importer(s) I can find.  If you can reccomend someone who you know and trust, please let me know.  If you have some "secret" supplier who is really good and you don't want to give them away, contact me and we might be able to work something out, but obviously I want to deal directly with the importer.    Replies can be posted here or you can e-mail me at Ryen301@aol.com, or instant message me on aol instant messenger, screenname: Ryen301.

Hi Ryen


             The best tip I can give you is to forget about your project using imports and stick with cb animals.  I keep GTP's and all but one are cb, and the one import I do have is nothing but trouble and he is kept exactly the same as my others.  I would not tkae in another import GTP if it was free.  This is of course my personal opinion and your and others opinions may differ, this is just my 2 cents.

These are the most prized breeders in my Chondro breeding group. Might I say that the male High Yellow is one of the best proven breeders that I have to date. The female Aru is gravid now by him, YEAH !!!! My collection is very diversified with imports and C.B. Chondros and I still have trouble telling the difference. PLease feel free to call me in regards to purchasing any and all forms of imported and C.B. Chondros.

Ryen...You JUST heard from one of the BEST Chondro people around! Wyatt is also one of the best "pole sliders" in the industry! lol (he's a fireman) He's also one the nicest guys you'll talk to! Give him a call, it can't hurt??
IF Wyatt doesn't have what you want...you can also try Eugene Bessette of Ophiological Imports in Gainsville, FL....You want to see some GORGEOUS CB stuff??? Ask him to send you some pics...

&nbsp; &nbsp; Neil- thanks for the reccomendations. &nbsp;I agree without a doubt that Eugene Bessette has killer stock and is no doubt going to be receiving the majority of my sad little paychecks soon. &nbsp;However, in this situation I am looking for wild caught (crazy, I know). &nbsp;It's always fun to read your replies.
&nbsp; &nbsp; Gary- I'm one of the biggest promoters of captive bred reptiles that you could ever meet. &nbsp;However in this situation I'm relenting and going with wild caught. &nbsp;My motivation is to add a little genetic diversity to the mix. &nbsp;I would like to build a unique bloodline. &nbsp;I have bought fresh imports before and have faired well in there acclimation. &nbsp;However, please continue to spread the captive bred message.

&nbsp; &nbsp;I would have to agree with Trooper. &nbsp;Although I haven't had nearly as much experience in keeping and breeding chondros as Trooper I have had both CBB and WC chondros over a long period of time. &nbsp;My first trio of CBB babies bought in 87' (except for one prolapsed female) became very good, reliable breeders for me. &nbsp;However, I never, ever could get any of my WC chondros to breed hardly at all! The wildcaughts ended up in my freezer while my 15 yr. old cbb female Wanda is still hammering rats and thriving -- although probably too old to breed.

&nbsp; I would say if you buy WC, get in a situation where you can have someone you trust completely, with a good eye for healthy arboreals pick them out for you. If you deal with exporters directly I would say you will have to do alot of business with them in order for them to favor you and send you good quality animals! Just some thoughts to ponder.

spam_ spam_ To date I have owned two green tree pythons one captive bred and one fresh import, and have done well with them. spam_I have acclimated alot of other species of snakes. spam_I understand that it is not a simple undertaking. spam_My goal would be to acclimate the wc adults and eventually breed them once. spam_Then holdback the babies, raise them and breed them. spam_I'm not saying it would be a quick or easy process, but I feel it would be worth the effort. spam_An integral part of it obviously would be to work with an importer that is trust worthy and will help me with my task. spam_Hence, the reason for the start of this thread. spam_I would like to pick the best importer and buy from this consistently and build a relationship with them as suggested by Mr. Hedger.

Your post does scare me a bit...so just for the record I have been happily married for 20 years **grins**...

The reasons you state for working with WC Chondros are all excellent and I wish you all the success in the world with your venture. &nbsp;But just for the record - I haved produced CBB animals over the years that look very similar to the beauties Wyatt is working with - so they do exist...!

With regards to a reputable importer I would strongly suggest Kamuran Tepedelon of Bushmaster Reptiles. &nbsp;He has quality farm raised imports of all age brackets at fair prices and although I am not a fan a believer in most "Locality Chondros"...(most of this is just sales hype and BS) -- Kamuran's animals in my experience have been the real McCoy. &nbsp;Tell Kam I referred you and asked that he set you up with something nice...can reach him at 303-530-2252.
