5-6 month Male Gecko acting odd

Hey, this is my first post but i've been searching through the forums a lot since I got my gecko's nearly 6 months ago, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

So here's a general overview of the Gecko's and their environment and I'll proceed from there.

They're living in a 20 Gallon tank, the male and female are approx. 6 months old (he's about 7 inches long, she's a little under 6) but I suspect she's younger because he has definitely hit puberty. Lol, lets just say, he has a bulge. However, I'm fairly sure she still isn't there yet because his tail fattened up 5 weeks faster than hers did, so she's probably younger or just a late developer (lol feel like i'm talking about a teen girl).

They have a cave and a piece of hollowed out wood that they enjoy getting on top of and relaxing, so they do have some height to enjoy. However, the past week, I noticed, as well as my room mate, around about 2-3am the male , Mr.Bungle, will climb on top of the wood and look straight up, as if waiting for my hand to come in. He gets onto 3 legs and lifts the other up in the air as if to catch a ledge or my hand (which isn't in the cage). He'll keep looking up intent that something's going to happen.

Here's the thing, he hasn't noticed I'm there watching him and he has super mealworms in his dish and crickets walking around. We thought he might just want hand feed, which he loves, but when we try giving him something, he'll totally ignore it and redirect himself away from the food but stays interested in looking up and sticking his front leg out (he'll switch legs sometimes). First time he did this, I put my hand in and he climbed onto it. He's very docile anyway but I've never seen him so interested in leaving the cage. He didn't behave strange whilst out, just walked all over me as usual and looked for interesting hiding spaces.

Is he just interested in leaving the cage or is he looking to get some "action", if you know what I mean, cause Oysterhead (female) certainly isn't giving him any.

If I can get some pics of it, I will. Thanks for the help!

Sorry for delayed responce, I just noticed your post. A picture may be helping my brain is having a tough time visual on what he is doing.

You could try separating them and seeing if he still does the same thing.

Also just saw this post- in my own personal experience this type of behavior generally does mean he is interested in getting out for awhile. As for why, whether he is looking for more territory to mark, or another, more interested female, or your interaction or what, that's hard to say. I will suggest that the two be seperated immediately however, as it sounds like she is still too immature to breed, and therefore should not be kept with a male at all.
