And Yet Another Theft!!!!

YES,PEOPLE , it happened again. Today 6-5-06 while Zelph was at work { Zelph Ridgeway, Ridgeway Reptile's Inc.} someone entered his home and stole a newly hatched Alb. Lavender Retic, A 2 week old Super Tiger Retic, and an Alb. ball python. Please! If anyone hears of anything that may sound like these animals E-mail me at rstymtlhd@yahoo.com or Zelph at ridgewayreptilesinc@ewol.com
This is in the s.w. florida area of Port Charlotte.Thank's for reading this,
Kris

2 more to the list.........

add a breeding pair of Blue Aru chondro's, and the albino ball python is believed to be gravid!

Sorry to hear about that in our area!

If the person who lost the snakes would email my husband at bill@bluechameleon.org, we could send out a mass email to everyone in the local Calusa Herp Society who has an email address on file.

Sure hope he gets them back!

Sounds to me like they knew what they were looking for this time as well as the last time. Must be some one who knew their way around and exactly what to take. Otherwise wouldn't more animals have been taken?

Are there photos of the animals available? That would be best to help get a positive ID for people to be on the lookout for.

Unfortunately, there are no available pic's at present, the Albino Retic had just came out of the egg the night before and was put up that morning, the Super Tiger is very light and slightly orange towards the belly, {his only holdback from this clutch}there may be pic's of the Albino Ball, i will find out and post them a.s.a.p. Also with the chondro's..
Oh, yeah, there was also a yaquari, spectacled cross caiman very young maybe 10 months old, about 12-13 inches long smooth front with varying spots on dark brown backround, thanks,
Kris

P.S. Zelph would post this himself, but having over 600 animals, he is a very busy man..............

No offense, but you think perhaps a person with just the expense of feeding and caring for over 600+ animals could invest in a security camera or two? If not simply to deter a thief from the onset of such an idea as he's crouched at your door and looks up to find he's on candid camera? Sounds like a wise investment to me given the value of what was stolen and considering its already been twice. Two or three cams are chump change to protect that kind of investment and keeping your mind at ease.

Give this tip to Zelph. Tell him to fill a large glass jar (big enough to fit your whole hand in) with money (singles, fives, tens, and some change). Do not use a small jar because the thief will take it with him. Anyway, leave it in an open area that you know anyone coming in the house can see it in plain site. Should he get robbed again it is without a doubt that thief will grab that jar to empty its contents into his pockets. You will now have his fingerprints on the jar so do not touch the jar.

Cops love it when they get to use thier dusting kit.

Good luck

His security system was off because his wife was home at the time, and room is part of the house, so his kids go through it to get to the back yard to play. You would think someone being home would deter the theft, but it didn't. Yes, we are pretty sure its someone he know's, but they wore latex gloves while doing the deed, { and yes ,the cops love to use that fingerprint kit}. He has since added another 4 cams to his upgraded system, now its on 24/7/365. it's pretty sad when you cant even leave the house during the day to do anything, and its really sad that you cant trust the people you think you know....
Thank you for your input,
Kris
