seeking breeding information
I was recently having a conversation with a friend on the subject of breeding cobras (Naja sp). I have been out of hots (and education) for a few years, and have not kept up on reading in that area, but this is what seems to be left in my head. Cooling (70-75) in Oct/Nov, with somewhat drier conditions and reduced feedings; introduction several weeks into this period; after a total of 10-12 weeks, increase the temps and humidity to the appropriate levels. In most cases copulation will have occured by this point, but if not - keep the pair(s) together for a couple more weeks. Eggs come, then babies hatch in the spring (obviously the timing of both will depend on the timing of copulation & ovulation)
I did try doing some searching through the internet, but most of what I came up with was useless. Are my thoughts off the mark regarding the info presented above??
