I hooked the Zoo Med heating pad up to the thermostat that used to be used for the ceramic heater. I have it set now at 95 degrees for a surface temperature. It's at the top of 1 1/2 to 2 inches of Carefresh recycled newspaper. You were right at how hot the Zoo Med pads can get. The digital thermometer said 120 without the heating pad being hooked up to the thermostat!

Is the 90-95 degrees that they recommend for the warm end of the Rosy enclosure supposed to be on top of the 3 inches of shavings or at the bottom of the cage directly on the heating pad?

Is 95 degrees an OK temp for an UTH is it is controlled by a thermostat?
