Unhappy Can my snake get MRSA from me?

I'm currently going through a heavy-duty course of sulfa drugs do to a nasty skin infection that has been confirmed by my dermatologist to be MRSA. Right now I'm doing my best to avoid contact with all my pets, but I'm specifically worried about my snakes. Could I accidentally pass MRSA to them? I'm afraid to have any contact until I know. Obviously I shouldn't handle that, but is it safe for me to change the water and clean the cage? What about the F/T food, can I touch that? Or will someone else have to do all the work until I'm done with the antibiotics?

If any vet has an answer, please help.

Reverse zoonotic (human to animal) spread of MRSA is possible. It's probably a good idea to have someone else care for your pets while you are being treated. If that's not possible, keep the wound covered and avoid any unnecessary contact. Gloves are a good idea as well.

Good luck with your treatment.

Okay. Good thing my mom likes snakes as much as I do. She won't have a problem with caring for my snakes for a bit. Thank you for your reply.

Sounds like a good plan. By the way, I noticed the last line in your initial post. I'm not a vet and I definitely didn't mean to imply that I was by answering (just a paramedic).
Here's some decent info:

Still, your info is probably good. Thanks for the link.
