Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

So for all the heavy handers who want to basically put a ban button on anyone they don't like your just as bad with the bitching as say Wes or anyone else is with the complaints of the current mods.

One thing I have seen in my 4+ years here is the common practice of folks who want to convey a disagreement to first restate that which they want to impugn in a way which is innaccurate, but more easily impugned, and then disagree with it. The most obvious stated reasons for suspensions deserved and not rendered have been those involving threats of lethal force, and yet each threat only earned about 30% of the warnings required for a suspension, and the bulk of that required super-mod firepower. That's not a "ban button on anyone we don't like", and the penalty once attained is likely a $10 fine BTW, although a ban would be more appropriate. Glad to clarify.

Sometimes I wonder at my willingness to knowingly go down, as I do know better, yet I go.
I am not sure if it needs to be worked on or if it's some weird penance.
And, deep down where it really counts, I do still like it.
Like I said, same path, different crest.

I'm pretty sure, not positive as I have no obligation as a NON-MOD to know these things, that's it ONCE A DAY oh brilliant example of all that makes fauna shine as the newly born sun of a spring morning, washing away the grit and grime of mankinds impudence and arrogance and his affrontery to nature itself.

Wes, I've been thinking about this original post, and I have to confess I'm confused. The way the system was designed was such that any mod (not SUPER mod) can only ding another member once within a 24 hour period. That also implies that the message sent for that ding would NOT be issued if such action was blocked because of that 1 in 24 rule.
Looking at your cut and past job of those PMs has me quite confused, as they look like multiple replies to a SINGLE original warning. Since this may be a bug in the coding, could you please cut and paste EACH INDIVIDUAL PM that you got for each of those warnings so I can forward them to my programmer? BTW, the issuer of the warning points will get a copy of the PM as well, so if christopher66 would send me copies of those PMs I would appreciate it.
And has anyone else tried this? I would like to know if the recipient in that attempt got a PM of that failed warning point issued. If any of the mods want to test this for me, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Since I don't forsee me intentionally overstepping any boundries in the near future, I would be willing to take some test warning points. If Chriss66, or anyone feels like they may want to try and hit me with warnings to see what the PM outcome is, I can play guinea pig. You can try one, and see if it sends multiple times, or you can try sending it 2 or three times and see if the PMs come through with the same message.
If you do it, please post here that you did it so others don't keep doing it!
I can use profanity if it makes anyone feel better about warning me too.

Thanks for offering to be the guinea pig, Dave, but I set up a test login I sometimes use and have the mods dinging me to test this out. Plus I am checking the various logs on the server to see what I can figure out.

Fig
Fig I don't think you wanna be a guinea pig. All you have to do is look at my score and look at the post and see how many times you can get dinged for the same post. Trust like Wes said "where there is smoke, there is fire." This site has more fireman willing to do their duty than the Chicago Fire Department.
Now I haven't posted in the feedback forum in a while because I felt like I would see the fallout from the other thread and if things would change. Obviously still the same. Chriss66 and I fueded there briefly because of his actions with a the "ding" button. Obviously he did not learn from that situation.
Rich I think you are doing a good thing because their maybe a golem in the gears. I pointed this out previously I thought their may have been a flaw but you wouldn't acknowledge. For that you are a better man and I have garnereed more respect for you.
Now I would like to talk about the analogies in the previous thread about the policeman who stops the man with invalid license plates. Gives him a ticket and then the man dirves further gets another ticket and so forth until he gets home. The thinking is he should continue to get tickets because he is breaking the law. Maybe so but my infractions or repeated dings were from the same post. This man chose to continue driving because he knew if he did he would get another ticket. Different events different time. I don't think the member should be penalized more than once for a post. My thought not the current moderators so be it.
Now for an analogy of my own. Since Jim brought up basketball and fouls. Gary Payton goes up for a shot and Michael Jordan slaps his wrist. Three whistles, three referees, report three fouls. It happens again in the first quarter, Michael Jordan goes to the bench with six fouls. Two events six dings by the moderators (referees). Some how if this was the case I don't think we would be talking about the same Michael Jordan who is in the Hall of Fame. Do any of you?
