Garlic Bread
I have several kinds of garlic totaling several pounds so I keep them frozen.
To make garlic bread for 1 loaf of French bread:
6 cloves garlic
1 stick butter
1 tbsp dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano)
Peel the garlic cloves and put them in a quart Ziploc bag. Put the stick of butter and the herbs in. Zip it shut and leave out until the butter softens, maybe 30 minutes.
Smoosh the garlic cloves inside the bag, this will be easier to do if you have used f/t garlic. Smoosh everything together, butter, herbs and garlic.
Spread the garlic butter on top of each side of a split loaf of French bread. Put in a 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes, until the bread is hot and the butter is melted.
