Mice flopped Rats thrive

I have been trying for ages to get my mice to have babies. In 7 months I have had ONE litter of 5. When I got my balls I decided to try rats. I have 5 females and one male. Female one ( a young gray hooded) had 9 healthy kittens. Female two (a older cinnimon one) had 10. My rex young female had 9 but all but one died (she didnt clean them and I was gone when they delivered) and that one I fostered to the hooded female. Finnaly rex two female had 11 kittens. Blue female had a horrible birth and had two kits get stuck half in and half out of her. I helped her deliver the stuck ones and she passed the rest but all where dead.

Three kittens have been lunch for corn, and gracy and elvis. It makes it a bit easier to have at least a start of my own food. I just wish I could get the balls to eat regular.

edit: It sure is nice not having to worry about paying $4 for a rat and 3 for a mouse. Elvis is much better if you give him a pinky then a lg fuzzy (he ate again two days ago). Gracie hasnt eaten in a while. I am a bit worried about her. I have tried mice and pinky and fuzzy rats
