Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Average Clutches Per Year
I had the honor of having my first clutch of beardies laid this year. I was just wondering what the average number of clutches has been for everyone else. So far she has laid two clutches. Last clutch was laid a couple days ago and her first clutch is about 3 weeks from hatching! I am so excited!

Clutch SIZE
Well, you don't have my answer for average clutch SIZE which I would say is about 27. The girls lay anywhere from usually 15-40 per clutch. Average clutches per year all depends on the experience of the female. Usually first year she will only lay one or 2, if she goes for her third there usually is not much viable. But that is from one breeding. I never send her back in with a male after the first breeding. More experienced females will lay more eggs and have more clutches than the first year gals.

I was a little confused since the title said one thing and the poll asked another. So that is why I just included both in my answer. Basically it just comes down to experience of the female. Least that is what I have concluded here with my kids.

Update!
Anyway...Just as I was talking about this...I got my second clutch for the year. 16 eggs and 13 fertile. First clutch only a week and a half from hatching. I am so excited. Mom is completely back up to weight prior to laying her second clutch and continues to gain weight!
