Arboreal Husbandry

So, I've been looking at buying myself another snake. One of the main one's I'm looking at is a IJ carpet python, but nothing available for the moment.

Also interested in arboreals: ATBs, ETBs, GTPs. One of the things I'm nervous about keeping this boas is their critical requirement for high humidity.

I just want to hear from you guys who own any of these boas, how you find the husbandry requirements of your snakes..whether it's as tricky as it's made out to be..whether it's a pain in the butt etc.

Come across so many website that contradict each other. Would really appreciate your input!

Thanks!
Skunk!

It really depends on the person and the setup. I've had many years keeping high-humidity scorpions from the same locations in fishtanks, and have adapted many of my same methods to the world of treeboas. So, for me, it was easy.

So what would you suggest/advise is a good setup..in terms of holding humidity well, and being sufficiently ventilated? Barring the $250+ cages available!

i actually recently picked up one of the extra large exoterra terrariums for about $50-off. I was holding off mostly because of cost and weight, but it is working out well. There are other cage manufacturers with similarly sized cages that are cheaper still (junglehabitats is the first to come to mind at under $140 shipped)

Hi I currently have 2 Exotera 18X18X24 enclosures already setup for arboreal snakes, with PVC perches . they work great the only thing you have to do is cover the most of the top with acrylic to keep humidity levels right. I know this isnt the classifieds but I will be selling them for $150 (75 each) plus shipping . Let me know if you are interested.

If the cage doesnt come with perches..how do you put a perch in the cage without drilling massive holes into the cage?

I may be interested in a cage..any idea on shipping costs to GA 30605?
