Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

General BS forum I guess anything is fair game in here. Just watch the subject matter doesn't get carried away too much. |

Joe, do you think that the line between what is private and what is not is changing, or why do you think they blab that way?

Most of them have no filter. When my kids did something stupid I'd never think about blabbing it to the world. My one niece found out her husband was cheating on her. She took all his text messages and posted on her fb account! If my wife was cheating on me I can think of maybe 2 people I'd confide in about something like that. She posted for all her family, friends, co workers and group strangers to read. I just don't get it. One grandnephew who is always in trouble with law will post the nastiest anti police stuff you've ever read. My niece (his mother) is one of those, My baby didn't do nuffin people. I have unfriended many a family member. Some are too embarrassing. At least my youngest daughter listened to me. She got into an argument with her ex husbands new wife. I told her that she's almost done with nursing school. Delete that crap so it doesn't come back to harm you.

I'm so proud of your daughter!! And nursing school is hard, too much to throw away on drama.
Along those lines, I got a friend request from someone I did not know at all, and have not accepted, because I don't know who I am inviting into my life. So far I have accepted requests from people I actually know, people I have met this past week and like, or who are friends of friends.

Unfortunately neither my body nor my mind has improved particularly in the last few weeks so I guess the pods are not much better than the unpodded people still left in the world.

Unfriending. I did it today.
I had requested one of the ladies in the houseplant group as a friend. She has amazing plants and good ideas about plant keeping. I guess though that when you are friends with someone you get all the stuff they post? I started getting political posts about sensitive subjects like abortion. It is not that I won't discuss such issues, but the kind of posts being sent too often reflected an intolerance for any other viewpoint.

You can add people as friends and then "unfollow" them. That way you can still send messages easily and tag them, but whatever they post doesn't end up on your wall.

Yeah Facebook has a lot of that. I don't mind the occasional rant or funny political meme but some folks it is their life.

It seems as if many on fb are not interested in providing information for others to make decisions and seeking informations themselves, they are more interested in defending a position than in thinking. I guess in any society one has both builders and fighters though.
The problem is that energy one could use for thought is instead used for dealing with the drama and fighters. I suppose that they way some deal is to ignore the misconceptions and misinformation and drama, and just keep a low profile.

So I thought the plant forums on fb would not have any drama. Was I ever wrong! Some drama is about plant care, but on Valentine's Day some guy decided to post a selfie of himself with a plant covering his you know what. Well, there was a fuss about that and now a bunch of copy cat guys are doing the same.
Ordinary guys, too, not body builders so with the plants covering them up they didn't have a lot to show off, but everyone seems to be having a lot of fun with it.
This is just another story of me in fb-land and in no way am I encouraging similar behavior here.

Nope. That would be for Hell. LoL
Haven't been to FB, or my FB profile that is, in a rather long time. I think I will feel a tad "weird" (at least for a little bit) if/when the day ever comes that I go to my profile.
