Hurricane Ike

It looks like southeast Florida needs to make preparations NOW for a category 3 hurricane making landfall around Tuesday afternoon. The track can change, of course, but I certainly wouldn't wait till the last minute to make preparations.

I can say for myself, Africa needs to close the gates on the hurricane enclosure.
I'm tired of the things running loose over here. Isn't there a leash law or something?

Florida may get lucky. The tracking I watched tonight shows Ike may dodge around Florida and play in the Gulf a bit.

Not a lot of comfort to those of us on the Gulf side of the state

Yeah, with Ike coming into the Gulf of Mexico as a category 4 hurricane, SOMEONE is going to get clobbered, no doubt.

Right after Ike hits , my dad is going to New Orleans to help flatten and clear an entire Parish. Depending on where Ike makes landfall , he could be gone awhile.

If it wasn't for minor eye surgery he needs , he would be there when Ike hits.

The latest track forecast is called for Cuba to get chewed up by a very strong category 4 Ike, and then when it moves into the Gulf, perhaps hitting a bit west of New Orleans. Depends on how much strength Ike regains when it gets into the Gulf as to how serious it will be.

Right now, it's a VERY impressive looking storm, and Cuba is about to get REALLY pounded big time.

I drove through Fay to attend Daytona and now it looks like I will be dealing with Ike attending the ETHS Conference in Houston!
