BEL paradox hatching

I found 5 heads poking out of a 7 egg mojo x normal clutch this morning, and one of them is a paradox bue-eyed leucistic. Just thought I'd share some pics. I'll post an update once it's out.

Mojo x normal breeding with a paradox BEL offspring?

It appears to be. Hopefully it's out soon so I can see what it looks like.

I was under the impression that Mojo x Mojo produces BEL because it is co-dom?

Are you sure it's not just a funky coloring fluke that can sometimes happen during incubation?

My personal pet theory is that a lot of paradox animals are chimeras--merged twins.

No, I'm not sure, but it sure looks like the head of a paradox BEL. I thought I've heard of paradox albinos hatching from an albino x normal pairing, so in theory even a heterozygous x normal could produce a paradox of the homozygous phenotype. I don't know.

I agree. That is an interesting thought.

Was she ever paired with another snake?

The mother is a breeding loan, but the owner has never bred her and she was purchased as a normal. It's still not outand I couldn't take it any longer so I cut a window. It's definitely a paradox leucistic. So far there are 2 mojos and one normal out, with this one and three more still waiting to come out.

I'll post more when it finally decides to come out.

Thanks Jas!
