Steps To Become Fedex Certified!!!

Fed Ex never did sent me my waiver, by the way. After struggling with them for months, I've given up, and I'm using SYR. No problems whatsoever with UPS so far, not a single one. The local hub recognizes me on sight, and the lady behind the counter always greets me with "more snakes, eh?" <lol> She even asked for a biz card so she could take a look at them online.

Your options are: Fed Ex, in which you're never supposed to ship reptiles to a residential address, or UPS, in which you must rely on a waiver that their upper echelon doesn't want anyone to see, but apparently honors. I mean, not a great selection, there. There's always Delta Dash, but they want your firstborn and an arm and a leg as a shipping charge. Use what works for ya. lol

I'm late getting started but I've finally got the ball rolling on getting certified and wanted to thank you guys for such an informative thread and all of the resources provided here. So far, I've opened an account online and just called the 1800 number to get my account rep's info. The guy I spoke with took down my information and said that I should get a call from my rep sometime today. That was a couple hours ago. I really hope this doesn't turn into a lot of phone tag.

I'm impatient and got tired of waiting for someone to contact me so I contacted FedEx Packaging Services via email -- packagingservices@fedex.com -- and explained what I was trying to do. I also asked if I could get the account number so that FedEx would cover the cost of shipping my test package to their facility.

I got a response within the hour.

They sent me the account number I needed along with a link to the package testing application. They also reminded to package everything just as I would if I were shipping a reptile, minus the reptile. I was so relieved that I didn't hit a "We don't ship reptiles" wall.

I've printed out my shipping label and my box will be on its way to them tomorrow.

Good to hear Sandy.... Chances are you will have your test results by the end of next week.... If memory serves me correctly... they test your package in Memphis, so even shipping ground it should get there kinda quick considering where your shipping from.
