Exclamation Is this Yellow Fungus?

Hello, We purchased this bearded dragon several months ago, when we purchased it we noticed it had what looked to be a small shedding issue, the seller assured us it was a minor shedding issue and would go away shortly. About 2 weeks after we brought it home we noticed it wasn't going away and was only getting worse. We contacted the seller about the issue, we then found out that they did not breed the dragon and purchased it from someone else and were told the animal was slightly dehydrated and was being kept too dry and we should soak the animal more often, which we were doing. Another month went by and the dragon was steadily getting worse, the seller we purchased from told us it was our poor husbandry skills and improper diet that caused the issues, advised us to put vitamin E oil on the dragon, move its UV/heat lamp further away from the cage and that it needs more hydration. At this point the dragon started to lose a lot of his toes and very shortly after died. We never requested a refund from the seller, just wanted to know what to do to take care of the skin issue. Just recently we became aware that the seller has animals that have Yellow Fungus in their collection and by taking another look at the pictures we originally sent them we noticed the similarities between the conditions it was facing and Yellow Fungus, we have sent pictures to other dragon breeders and they have all said it looks to be like the later stages of Yellow Fungus. Does this look like Yellow Fungus or is it something else?

It can be passed to other herps in your collection, just by you touching the infected dragon.

Thank you for your input, it's greatly appreciated. We are aware of how contagious it is, we are not breeders of bearded dragons so we don't have to worry about it infecting an entire collection, we keep a few here and there as personal pets just because I enjoy them.

At this time we don't want to give out that information, for one we want to be sure that it is in fact Yellow Fungus, we don't want to falsely accuse, and also we want to give the seller a chance to make things right, if however they do not then we will most likely post a BOI about them.

If you do end up on the BOI, make sure to check into the seller's TOS. Also, you will have to "prove" that it was yellow fungus (which it sounds like you are in the process of doing), that the seller knew the dragon was unhealthy and that your husbandry was spot on every step of the way.

Really REALLY sad about your dragon. I'm sorry for your loss and for his suffering.
