New Enclosure for Mountain Horned Dragons

We got the new enclosure all set up for my adults this weekend and I moved them on Sunday. It’s actually the most depressing thing...the first time they moved by themselves was today. They have basically all been laying where I put them. The enclosure is much bigger and there are new plants in there for them. I did move the plant from the old tank so they would have something familiar. All three of them are all dark and their masks are black and Diablo won’t even try to bite me or bow up or anything. I had been letting them soak for a few days in the water feature that we built for them prior to putting in and them in the new enclosure. I’ve seen them drink from it since the move but I’ve been putting them in it.

I know they are freaked out about moving and the tank is much, much bigger and they are in the living room instead of the bedroom but I wonder how long are they going to do this? I know that I had periods of adjustment when I brought them home from the store but dang, I didn’t think they would regress to appearing dead wherever I put them down.

Yesterday evening I put took them out of the water feature and put them in the center of the tank on the floor. 2Toe moved to the back corner behind a plant and had her body pressed up against the wall so that was a voluntary move on her part. I finally picked Bruja and Diablo up and put them on the trunk of the corn plant. This evening I moved Bruja and Diablo to the water feature and I couldn’t reach 2Toe so I left her in the corner. When I came home from Mom and Dad’s house Bruja had climbed up in the corn plant and Diablo had moved to the ponytail plant that was in the other enclosure and best of all, 2Toe was in the water feature, it’s been 3 days and finally voluntary movement has occurred.

The temps are about the same as they were in their old tank - low 80s down to high 70s, cooler in the shade by the water and warmer up high by the basking lights. I put a 100 MVB in it this evening. I had a 160 in that tank for beardies but it was way too hot for the MHDs. Humidity is running about 70% prior to misting and the water has places deep enough for them to soak.

Some of the crickets are gone out of the feeding bowl, I don’t see them around so maybe they got eaten. Hopefully the Horns are having a big party when I’m gone and freeze back in place when they hear me coming home!
