Rubbing problem with monitor

The problem is that every time my monitor wants out of his cage (every day) he stands up on the glass and rubs his face back and forth. The REAL PROBLEM is that it has caused bleeding that has gone on for months. I even took him to the vet because I thought that the bleeding was coming from inside his mouth (infection or something). Every day when I turn his lamps on he has fresh blood in the crack of his mouth. PLEASE HELP!!!
