This is really not a very well thought out plan.

1) First you have to purchase a handful of eight balls from a drug dealer.
2)Then you have to buy a plane ticket to fly to the guys home and smuggle the drugs along with you.
3)Then you have to search for a strung out physically HUMONGOUS crackhead (which I think is nearly impossible) alone in some back alley in the worst part of town.
4)Now once you find this crackhead its suggested getting him higher than a kite and escorting him to this guys house to kick his door down and kick the crap out of him.
5) If the guy dies from the crackhead beating...you don't get a dime but feel better knowing the guy is dead.

The BOI does affect people. You think it does not do any good. but it definately has done good.

And to all: I PM'd Tony earlier today around 4:30ish. In doing so, I'm offering him another chance to make things right. He read it shortly thereafter, so I'm waiting to hear from him. I'd like to be able to say that the guy hit hard times and up, but has fessed up and is doing the right thing, but at this point it doesn't seem likely (I'd like even more if he stood up like a man and did it publicly in view of the reptile community...at least that may salvage some of his integrity). Here is a copy of the PM, and I will keep everyone posted as to the outcome.

Well, you beat me, ripped me off, etc, and now I'm hearing from several people about how ashamed you feel and how you plan on making restitution. Well, I'm open to suggestions. I expect to receive an offer shortly and look forward to it. I'm willing to accept co-dom morphs such as pastels or spiders or homo recessives (albinos). According to Arthur Cohen, you have all three morphs in your possession. I'll give you a call first thing Monday if I don't hear from you before then.

Yes Cat, they were all the same sizes and weights. Although I have not been on Fauna BOI alot, I have been spending quite a bit of time tracking people down and posting mostly on K.S. trying to find those that bought the animals. Without concrete proof, I do not want to slam anyone....that is only being fair. I have just wanted people to know what they might be getting. From Mikes last post, he said people close to Tony are saying he admitted to it and wants to make restitution, if that is the case, I hope he does, it does not make everything right, but at least he would be man enough to admit it and try to fix it. Everyone falls on hard times, but that is where principal and conviction prove out. I knew he was on hard times, that is why I gave him so many animals for one pinstripe female, I knew he was getting the best of the deal but he needed it more than me and this is just a hobby for me, the bottom line is not as important as the friends and connections you make. That is why I felt bad about what he did, If he would have just sold everything I gave him for the going rate, he would have made money.. I got something I wanted.....Tony got a bunch of stuff he could sell and make a little cash. He abused it, for whatever reason, it was not right. I don't know if he can salvage his reputation, but like I said, his animals were all well cared for and I am very happy with the one I got from him. I tend to be a forgiving person and while I doubt I will ever work with Tony again, I do not wish him any ill-will and hope that if he does the right thing, others will forgive and forget.

I don't know, if Tony were to come clean, and make things right, it is possible that he could salvage some of his reputation.

It really makes a person wonder though, if he was a good guy to begin with, just what it would take to make him turn to such thievery to make a few bucks. If he fell on hard times, well.....for the most part, the herp community are good folks, and there would have been someone to try to help him out as you did.....help get him back on his feet or what have you. He could have sold some of the visuals he is said to have, if he indeed needed the money that badly? I don't know, I guess I'll just never understand it.

Hopefully, his conscience will steer him in the right direction, and he'll make good on what he's done. Only time will tell.

I will not say what Tony is said to be going through, but rather that I've been through something very similar....4 times. I can't think of anything that would cause me to want to rip off a fellow hobbyist.

Anyone out there recall the wealth of knowledge they've received from others in this community at one time or another? Why turn on a community that can be so giving? Every time I give advice to a beginner, I feel I am in some way repaying the debt I feel is owed to folks who have been generous and helpful to me in my own endeavors.

As far as conscience and hard times, etc., hopefully yes, he will try to make ammends/restitution....if not, karma works in funny ways. This could do more to hurt his situation rather than better it.

Agreed completely, Mike. That's why I said I just don't understand it, and suppose I never will. Just trying to look for some insight into what can make someone do such a thing, if they ever were indeed a "good guy".

While this hobby seems to have more than its fair share of bad guys, it also boasts, IMO, a huge number of extremely kind and giving folks, folks that are always willing to help out the newbie or long-time fellow herper.

After the whole TSE debacle I went through, I may have given up on the hobby altogether if it weren't for those awesome folks. I could never imagine turning around and ing on them like Tony did.

And beyond the immediate results....these people also make it 100 times harder for a newbie to get started in this business....how much more difficult is it to sell hets nowadays? I know myself, it's the rare seller that I would trust to buy them from. Kinda gives the honest newb a kick in the arse. The ramifications go WAY beyond the initial few folks sellers like Tony rip off selling their fake hets.
