Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Isn't it odd how changing tanks would prompt them to spawn? I always used to think that it would be stressful and postpone any of their breeding plans, but I've had a number of Texans, Jacks and Convicts that do exactly that when I've moved them.
I've never raised Cubans... are they pretty good about tending to their fry for a while?
you can induce breeding by doing a massive water change also...about 60% usually does it, especially if the new water is around 2 degrees warmer.
they are great fish, but so-so as parents...you have to seperate the fry early on.

Tetracanthus are great. The pair will get much better-looking as they get older and larger. One of the prettiest and most impressive new-world cichlids.
