Question Any knife collectors seen one of these?

I noticed there are some gun enthusiasts on here so I was hoping I could find someone knowledgable about edged weaponry to help identify something. This is a knife my mom bought about a decade ago in an antique shop for next to nothing. The only theory I've come across so far is that it could be like a commemorative knife given to a soldier when he made officer. The only words on it that I can make out are "Carl Eickhorn Solingen" at the base of the blade. My only digi cam is my cell phone so these pics are the best I could do..Any info would be appreciated. Thanks for looking.

It's definately a Nazi relic if it is not a replica ofc. I will have to do some searching to see if I can figure out what particular type of dagger it is.

Well, af6ter some searching I found that it is indeed a fake. It is a fantasy knife made to look like a 3rd Reich artifact. Still, an interesting knife to say the least. It was marketed as a WWII GERMAN SS PARATROOPER DAGGER. Supposedly they were manufactured by a company in VA. back in the 70's.

Thanx alot for the info. Figures it's a fake. Is this based on an authentic knife or are ALL of them fakes? I guess what I'm asking is were there NO knives like this one made back in WW2 era or is there something about THIS one in particular that points to it being a reproduction?

Completely fabricated and fantasy. There wasn't an actual edged weapon produced by Eickhorn that resembles this knife. Still, it seems like it could be a decently functional knife for most scenarios.

That stinks that it's not real. Could you post a link to where you found your info? Thanks again.

I got the information from http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtop...63bf8eb865c70c. These guys really know there stuff so I believe it is trustworthy information. However a second opinion is always worth looking into.

Yeah I've been doing websearches for the last couple of hours and came to the same conclusion..it's fake. When I do a search on the rzm code..m7/66/34 it brings up a totally different type of hitler youth dagger. And here I was thinking I had something valuable

I have actually seen those paratrooper knives many times, even a friend of mine owns own, he difference is that none of them were fabricated to be a Nazi made weapon. They are practical and are made with a double edged blade and s single edged blade.

Many Nazi weapons are not worth much.

Any monetary value would have just been a bonus. I was mainly interested in it as a piece of history and a collectible that I thought was fairly unique. I've never run into another one like it. Oh well. Thanx for the input guys.
