Nice One!

Great find, looks more like a "timber" than are N FL "Canebrakes".

Yes, it is a timber .. I think timber and canebrake are regional terms for the same species .. we officially only have timber rattlers and pygmy rattlers in TN although I have heard some people claim they have seen eastern diamondbacks in certain areas. Would like to find one

Found a DOR canebrake on the outer banks many moons ago. It was noteworthy because the orange dorsal stripe was absolutely gorgeous.

I'm surprised the range doesn't dip down into the Apalachicola National Forest. Seems like those lowland areas it would be prime habitat for them.
