Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Canon T3i
I'm looking at getting a better camera and this one has peaked my interest. Any thoughts on the T3i? Or a better alternative at a comparable price. Also Macro seems to be the lense of choice when photographing reptiles, any particular lens suggestions? Thanks for any help offered.

For the price of the T3i, I'd rather have a Canon 50D/60D. I personally like the controls of the Canon xxD line more than the Rebel line. The selector wheel on the back of the camera makes life so much easier. The Rebel line is also a tad smaller, which isnt much fun if you have big hands.
As far as lenses go, I'd assume an EF 100 F2.8 would be a good lens to work with. Or maybe even an EF 85 F1.8, although its not a macro lens.

I'm leaning towards Canon, but not stuck there. I've heard some good things about Nikon, any opinions there? I'll check out the 60D, vaguely remember reading something in a previous online search. Thanks and keep the input comming.

Nikon all the way. I loved shooting with my D70 and love my D7000 even more. My first DSLR was a Canon, and my gear choice from now on will be Nikon.
