Don't you think it would have been a little smarter if you had researched this prior to acquiring the snake?

Or asked the person who sold it to you what s/he was feeding it?

Rusty, google it dude, and yes I agree you should have done that first and could have asked the seller but at any rate here is a site that took me less than 1 minute to find and I hope it helps.

OK - I've got way too many things to say about this to just pass by.
First - remembering some of your other posts, you come off as very young & pretty inexperienced. I am not trying to insult you, but this is the impression I get.
Second - you have to have a permit to keep venomous in florida and at one point I was pretty familiar with the requirements to obtain one. housing AND experience requirements. my point here is that if you had enough experience to obtain a permit, you would probably know the answer to your questions. and if you don't, why do you have it. Egyptian cobras are not the hardest things in the world to work with, but they aren't what I would recommend as a starter, either. Also, when I was in FL visiting a (reptile)dealer/friend, I stopped in to a few places - they wanted to see my FL permit before selling me hots. (they had my NY permit on file, so I just arranged to have them shipped). If you don't have a permit, I'm pretty sure that the person that sold it you (if acquired in State) could be prosecuted. Again, the age question comes to mind, and I apologize if you are not a minor.
Third - why do you want to feed it snakes, anyway? an adult egyptian should readily take rodents - live, p/k, and probably even f/t. All the ones I ever had or worked with did, including some fairly fresh imports.

Florida Law

Rusty,

Harald's post above is correct. To obtain a venomous permit (which is required to possess even one venomous snake) in the State of Florida, one must have a minimum of one year's experience within the family(s) of venomous reptiles for which the permit is requested and a minimum of 1,000 hours. This has to be documented. Two letters of recommendation by individuals having personal knowledge of your experience are also required along with a $100.00 permit fee.

A $1,000.00 bond is required to exhibit venomous reptiles and other permits are required to sell these animals. I understand that FL Game & Fish sometimes peruse these pages, so if you do not possess the proper permit, I would suggest that you get rid of the cobra.

Glad you have the permit and all.

I know nothing about snakes but you asking this got me to reading, seems they will eat, a large variety, feeder frogs? What about chicks and small rabbits, if she is an adult she must be quite large and able to eat large food? You can buy quail eggs fairly inexpensively and hatch them yourself for food if she likes them.
