Separate. Unless you can build a very large enclosure where they don't have constant close contact outside of breeding season I see no reason to keep them together. I always worry more with arboreal species like GTPs and ETBs since they're more sensitive than, say, carpets and ATBs.
Maintaining proper heat and humidity in a larger enclosure can be more of a pain, more work, and again, the whole sensitive species thing... but if you're willing to stay on top of it then go for it.
