BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Local men showed their support for sexual assault awareness, one step at a time.
The University at Buffalo and Crisis Services hosted the sixth annual "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" march down Main Street Saturday afternoon.
Men put on women's high heeled shoes to raise awareness about gender relations and the issue of sexual violence.
Anna Sotelo-Peryea said, "A lot of times men kind of feel left out of the equation when we talk about violence against women in terms of who is considered the perpetrator or they're considered that they don't have a role involved in how to help. So, we have a bunch of guys in our community who really want to show support for the survivors and really want to try and help with the education and awareness to try and stop these crimes."
Money raised will help Crisis Services.
An estimated 60 to 70 men took the one-mile, high-heeled walk down Main Street.
