The Welcome Room & New Member Intros How about a place for new members to come on in, make an introduction, and meet the regulars? Talk about yourself or anything else that comes to mind, just to break the ice. Or just pull up a chair and make yourself at home for a spell.

Just thought i'd post my pic and tell you all a little about myself, I've been intending to do this for some time, but just now got around to it.
I live in Ames, IA and attend Iowa State University. I'm finishing up my Animal Science/Microbiology degree and am going to vet school in the fall. I keep many Uromastyx and some Beardies. I also enjoy hunting, the Chicago Cubs, and the outdoors.

That's me doing my best "Blue Steel" impression from Zoolander. Ladies Beware!

What do you think if Iowa State? And where do you plan to go to vet school?

I'm planning on staying here, In state costs so much anyway, i don't know how I could afford out of state tuition.
I really enjoy Iowa State, the campus is gorgeous (except Nov-March) , the faculty in my department is world class, there's a huge variety of courses, and there's always a lecture, athletic event, or interest group meeting to keep you busy.

That's awesome. I go to KU. When I used to live on campus, one of my neighbors in the dorm was from Ames. She said KU is exactly like Iowa State. I'm not sure what exactly she meant though. Our campus is huuuuge, and it's got big hills too. We don't have a vet program, but we have one of the only herpetology programs in the country.

Really? I don't know, i think it's quite a bit different from Lawrence, at least the town, but I guess we are an agricultural school as oppostive to a liberal arts. Lawrence always struck me as more down to earth, you know with the nice main street of small shops and neat restaraunts. I guess I would say our campus is more of a city within a city because it's rather set off and compact within Ames. Perhaps you should visit, I hear your basketball will be good this year.
