A Challenge!!! -- You can do it

I wanst sure where to put this... so if the staff want to move it to the USArk area... that is fine with me.

I was talking to a friend of mine today that is a decent sized beardie breeder and he said something that made me think. ... this is his idea and not mine... I will not take credit.

His thought process was the government is taxing us up to around 25% on the money we make, and trying to take away our rights to keep, breed, and sell the one thing we are passionate about. OUR REPTILES

USArk is trying to fight for our rights to keep, breed, and sell the one thing we are passionate about. Why not impose a tax on ourself to help out the ones that are trying to help us. We are already being forced to pay taxes to those that are trying to put us out of business.

Every month he calculates his sales... and then takes 1% of his sales and sends USArk a donation in that amount. Even though 1% is not a whole lot... in the long run if everyone will do it... it will add up nicely. I cant see 1% breaking anyone that is in this as a hobby or a business. It is up to us to do what we can to fight the BS that Washington is trying to force down our throat.

I know how I am... so I will be making a small change to his way of thinking... instead of monthly... I will have to do it per sale. From here on out, I will be donating 1% of my sales to USArk. If they are willing to fight for me... I am willing to do what I can to help them in that fight

Personally.... Id like to see this thread stay at the top of the list with activity... so how about posting what your donating either monthly or per sale. Every little bit helps... and there should be no shame in what you can or cant donate.

Last night I made a sale and the animals will be shipping out tomarrow. I will be donating $1.50 in honor of the person that purchased those animals.

I challenge each and every breeder and hobbiest to do the same. Join me in donating just a very small fraction of your sales to USArk.

You can do it... I have faith in you

Kevin,

Its a great idea and every little bit helps. I also want to add that Fauna is a good place to allot donations as well. If I wasnt doing so much trading, rather than selling, I would be donating more to both organizations.
