Reptile Basics
I have been having an interesting exchange of emails with someone by the name of Nicole Taylor (myreptiles123@aol.com) in the Atlanta area. spam_She offered me 2.2 Albino Balls at an exceptional price. spam_Almost too good. spam_She provided me with pictures of a male Albino copulating with a normal female, and two other pics of the male (same) by itself. spam_I found these EXACT photos on Hillary Webbs website (http://www.captivebredpythons.com/albinoball.htm)
which helped to heighten my suspicions. spam_She agreed to send the animals cod certified funds only. spam_UPS tells me that I may not open the box prior to payment, so that was out. spam_Since I am about 5 hours from atlanta I offered to meet somewhere to see them/purchase, that was ignored. spam_I requested recent pics of the anmals in question, that was ignored. spam_While I have no evidence that this was (is) in fact a scam, it has many of the earmarks of one. spam_The "real" email and the willingness to send cod also may lend some credibility to the deal. spam_Has anyone ever done business with her, heard of her, or received a similar offer??

Rich, I would email Hillary at the site you saw the same pic and inquire if she's sold them and let her know whose using the pic for a sale ad to see if you can get more info! That should give you your answer! Another way of being reassured of not getting scammed especially when sending a large sum of money, is to ask them to send you a zeroxed copy of their drivers license. You'll atleast know if their name and address are correct. Going thru usps with any agreements such as printed email and postal money order would also make it a federal offense using the po as a scam and provide you with more protection. Go with your gut feeling. if it doesn't feel safe it probably isn't! Good luck! Not so much with AOL... They allow free creation and deletion of screennames, multiple screennames and multiple accounts... This means an individual can create virtually endless combinations of the name in order to pull scams then it simply dissapears when they're found out. And all the names have an individual e-mail address...

While theoretically given substantial proof of a rip off, a criminal subpeona would probably result in the release of information from AOL itself, that would be very difficult to accomplish and probably more trouble than it's worth.

Easy answer... if the pictures are identical to those found on another website, e-mail THAT person asking if the animals were sold and to who. If the answer is no, or is different than the person who is offering them... It's a scam, stay away.

Well, I have definitely bailed out on the deal. The mail fraud angle, while it sounds neat, is not a viable way to provide safety in a transaction. It would be a cold day in hell before the post office or anyone else would pursue it. They are busy people and they will happily tell you so. Cover thine own ass. A good friend of mine checked out the pics with the owner and on Ralph Davis' forum before I even made the first post, she still has the snakes and the pics are still hers. "nicole" claims they are her pics and has the negatives to prove it. Amusing, but unlikely. I would have to say an upgrade from "possible scam" to "Likely scam" is in order. Thanks for your help.

Hello Everyone,
spam_This is the first time I have ever had to post on here, although I have been a frequent visitor. It was brought to my attention yesterday afternoon that this person was using my photos to sell their animals. spam_I have always wondered what makes people snag a photo (especially a highly recognizable photo) and claim it as theirs. spam_Or better yet, how can she have negatives for my digital photos? spam_

spam_I would like to thank Stuart Taylor of 2AM Creations for letting me know about this individual. spam_I hope others see this person for what s/he is and be wary when the deal seems too good to be true!

Sincerely,
Hillary Webb

I love BOI!!! I was also in contact with a Nicole Taylor over her albino pythons. It was in response to an ad on Reptile Classifieds. In this ad, it sounds like a guy having to sell his snakes because his wife is expecting a baby. After the first email, I had this gut feeling that things weren't quite right. She couldn't provide me with pics when I asked for them. Told me that she couldn't get them to load again. Then, I asked for references from people that she had sold snakes to...she gave me 3 email addresses, so I emailed them asking whether they were satisfied, etc...
One of the emails was undeliverable, but I got emails back from the other two...THEY ARE BOTH obviously written by the same person I had been emailing with (Nicole Taylor). She didn't even try to disguise her writing style!! spam_I would be happy to share them with anyone who wants to see for themselves. In all this time, she hadn't given me her name, so I told her that I would need it for sending payment...(I wanted to check her out here) She gave me her name and address, which is: 1312 Jefferson Cir. S, Atlanta, GA 30341.
BEWARE of this person...this has GOT to be a scam!!
Heads up, and be warned!!

I thought I'd list at least 4 addresses that I know she is using:
TimPythons@aol.com; myreptiles123@aol.com; supersayinrezan@aol.com and the one that came back 'undeliverable' repman@aol.com
Hope that with enough information, we can all keep from getting taken...and help each other in the process.

3. spam_It is her who was proven to steal pictures. spam_So it is her who is doing illegal stuff
