Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Not only is it illegal, it is down right morally and ethically WRONG. All people that "fight" birds, or any animal for that matter, are low down POSs. I can not post all that I want to say here......... just know that you are SCUM david.

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that simply owning these roosters was not illegal. It is the fighting of them, along with the surgically altering associated with fighting them, that is illegal.
The pit bull is one of the most popular dogs in this country, and they are used for fighting more than any other breed, but it is not illegal to own or breed them. (With the exception of a few localities, that is.) I own three pits, and do not fight them, and they are very friendly, good natured dogs. I don't know much about chickens (they taste good), .......well, enough said.

It is not illegal to see chickens as you say, so why not change the thread to selling roosters. It is illegal to own fighting cocks. IF you are known to have fighting cocks which you now are they can be conviscated and possibly even legal action taken. I to canot write all that i want to say here but if you want to talk privatly david i will tell you what i think of you.

Being one not inclined to post very often it surprises me that I am wasting time posting to such a thread but I wanted to correct some information that has been conveyed.
Cock fighting is not illegal nationwide. OK passed a resolution outlawing the practice this year, and that left two states who still have legalized cock fighting.
Several states however are working on or have passed transportation bans to prevent people form neighboring states to travel with their chickens to states where it is legal for the purpose of fighting them.
This would also apply in the event this child actually succeeded in selling some chickens to folks or law enforcement officials residing in those states. A possibility I highly doubt.
It is not illegal to own fighting cocks anymore than it is illegal to own pit bulls. Either may be true in some local areas, but it is definately not a blanket truth.
They are just chickens with a predisposition for fighting amongst the males.
There are several dozen breeds of chickens used for fighting and none of them are particularly rare, as was stated in the ad.
Just like pit bulls can be kept as pets, fighting chickens can be kept for the same purpose as other chickens. Their eggs taste the same. Males are just naturally inclined to fight viciously, which is not true to the same extent with other breeds.
I would like to state that I neither encourage nor condone the practice of chicken fighting, nor do I participate in it myself. I have however grown up around people who do and am familiar with the practices involved.
One point mentioned in this thread of which I have no knowledge however is the surgical altering said to be associated with it. Beyond the use of gaffs or spurs, neither of which are surgical I know of no changes made to the chickens.
Unless of course you consider some of the cruel handler inflicted injuries involved with the cheating aspect of throwing a fight for a payoff. These are not surgical however.

apologies
This is David's mother, I am not sure what has gone one here, he is a young boy with too big of ideas. He assures me some of these postings are not his doing.
for any trouble this has caused you have my apologies. However, the replies on this site are also childish and show lack of adult behavior. It is not in his nature to say some of these things. enjoy your site without him.

As far as the surigical altering of the roosters, I am the one who made that statement. I am an avid watcher of Animal Precint on Animal Planet. On a couple of the shows, they showed how the birds are altered around the head. I really have no idea what purpose this serves, but they animal cruelty enforcement agents did say that it is common place for the fighting birds to be altered in this manner, and the mere altering of the birds constituted a crime (it legally made them "fighting" animals).
We have laws here where I live that state if you have a pit bull that has ANY SCARS WHAT SO EVER, it is a fighting dog and will be confiscated and destroyed. Like I said, I have 3 pit bulls. My dogs do have little scars on them from playing with each other, rolling in the rose bushes (don't ask me why they do that, I have no idea), and from generally being dogs. But, based on this law, my dogs could be taken from me as fighting animals. So, I do not agree with any of these laws that make an animal illegal based on their apperance. Hell, in OH they wanted to pass a law saying that if a pit bull has cropped ears, it must be used for fighting. Never mind all the other breeds that have cropped ears (it is for looks, after all).
Anyways, this is an old thread, but I just re-read it, and wanted to ad my extra .02.
