Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

HSUS Pushes For Animal Rightist in The White House
Reposted from http://www.ussportsmen.org/Page.aspx?pid=2248
Quote:
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the largest anti-hunting group in the country, is urging its followers sign a petition urging President Obama to appoint an “Animal Protection Liaison” in the White House. This liaison would undoubtedly be promoting HSUS’s radical animal rights agenda.
The appeal comes directly from HSUS President and CEO, Wayne Pacelle. In it, he states,
“We have developed a change agenda for animals, which outlines 100 immediate steps the Obama Administration can take to help animals -- including millions of pets, farm animals, laboratory animals, and wildlife. With your help, we can ensure the Administration is addressing these critical animal protection issues in an ongoing and sustained way.”
Never before has there been a specific member of the White House staff devoted exclusively to the animal rights issues. Given the current political climate, the amount of influence this appointee might have on public policy raises serious concerns.
“As if having ‘Regulatory Czar’ Cass Sunstein in the Obama Administration isn’t enough, now sportsmen may be confronted with a dedicated animal rightist down the hall from the President, whispering in his ear,” said Bud Pidgeon, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance president and CEO. “The USSA is watching this closely and looking to see how to best combat this ridiculous and potentially dangerous idea.”

Just something we herpers should keep in mind. Do not be fooled, the HSUS is NOT our friend, or a friend to anyone who keeps animals responsibly. They like to talk abotu stopping puppy mills, animal fighting, and commercial whaling, because nearly everyone would agree to those things. However, the end of pet keeping, especially exotics, is also part of their agenda which they don't talk about as openly.
Having one of their own on the white house staff would potentially have serious negative effects for us all.
