Hissing a normal thing?

Apparently my ball phython started hissing at me more often than usual he wasn't hissing before until now also he doesn't want me to touch him anymore

Sometimes they can develop attitudes. Sometimes it is due to something changing. I have 1 particular ball that likes to throw a hissy fit anytime I handle him.

Have you changed anything? Like his enclosure, hides, frequency you handle or feed?

It's breeding season I'm pretty sure, if it's female it makes tons of sense. She wants to breed and she's protecting herself so she can do so.(males can have similar behavior). This doesn't happen with every ball python though. My female tegu for example stays docile through breeding season, while ones I work with want to rip your hand off haha.Some people believe animals are able to sense the time of year through barometric pressure sensors. Hopefully it will calm down. If not a ball python bite won't hurt you, light bleeding at most. They're fangs won't get big enough to do any real damage.
