Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Field Herper looking for other Herpers
My name is Sonnia, and I used to spend a great deal of time herping in Florida, especially N. FL and S. GA. (There's a small chance some of you may remember me from field herping trips from 2000-2004). I've since relocated to the Tampa Bay area, and haven't had luck finding any field herpers in my area who are willing to do day trips. I no longer have my truck, but I still have my other gear. Spring is coming soon, and I want to hit the woods and backroads for some field herping or road cruising.
I pack great field lunches and have a sharp eye for spotting herps in the field. If anyone is interested in some field herping in the west central Florida area, please let me know.

Hi Sonnia -
Have you thought about hitting any of the Suncoast Herp Society's meetings? I know they meet up in Clearwater and you might have some luck there. I've been meaning to get to a meeting, but I live a little further...

Suncoast meeting
Yes, I know of the meeting and when it happens, but it's not what or who I'm looking for. Most of the people just keep snakes, and don't go out field herping.

Field Herper looking for other Herpers
Hey! I live in Orlando & I'd love to go field herping! I need a friend that's not scared to flip over logs in search of cold blooded critters! E-mail me back & we can see if our schedules can be made to mesh. (Polk county is between me & you... empty roads where herps may roam.
YAY!

Here is another link you may try out. I live in So Cal and belong to the Southern California Chapter. They have a Southeast Chapter that includes where you live. Most of the people there are field herpers and or herpetologist. They go out in the field looking for herps for pics mostly. Check it out and you may find others in your area that head out all the time. You can also check out the main FORUM and you will see a lot of Florida and such post there as well. Good luck..Rich
