This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Welcome Carol! I'm sure you'll find help here with turtles. Sorry to hear about your health problems and hope they get sorted soon. I was house ridden for 7 weeks with a bad broken leg and I know being bed and house bound is terrible. I ended up getting Amazon book deal so I had plenty to read for $10 a month. Between that, movies and sleeping I survived! Good luck!

soon and I am trying to find the best place and price. I also am doing lots of research on them. I have a husband. We have been married for 20 years. He is/was my high school sweetheart. Our kids are 19, 17, and 15. Two have special requirements, but we have made the best of it. We have a dog and 2 cats. I have a teaching degree for special education but I will be having several surgeries in the next few months so I am temporarily disabled right now. My hobbies are being on my tablet and reading since I am bed ridden. I will be on the site several times a day, I am sure.
