Tickle that tegu egg!!

I had all of this clutch hatch but four eggs, so I piped the other four, here is how I do it.

That is way cool! I tickle the leo eggs but they dont come charging out like that!

Thanks guys!!

Norsmis, tegus are pretty well known for busting out of the egg, they even start pounding crickets within one hour of hatching.

Oh. I also need to give you guys a word of warning, this was the last four eggs in the clutch of over 40 eggs, I do not recommend doing this when the hatching first starts, some of them might not be quite ready. This was done on the third day after the first ones started to hatch. I think the tickling stimulates them because they think it is other hatchlings crawling over the egg.

This is exactly why I "tickle" the leo eggs. If one has hatched and the clutchmate hasn't, I get something and gently rub the egg. I usually get a pip within a few minutes. That tegu charging out was awesome! He was like" Let me out of here!"
