Button Quail

Anybody here breed these little cuties? I got some about 3 weeks ago, a quad of what I thought was 1 male/3 females....turns out one of the 'females' was a male with a solid black bib, no white whatsoever. I was wondering why I hadn't seen a single egg yet.... I'd been hearing crowing and thought it was the obvious male but it wasn't, it was the other one. So now I'm second guessing if the other two really are female! They're both dilute chocolates and very difficult to tell. I read something somewhere about there being some swelling behind the vent on males, but I really can't see it. I've separated them into pairs and the two, now obvious, males are the only ones making male type noises: the crowing and darth vader style growling....
I'll try to post pic's tomorrow. I feel like a failure not being able to breed button quail, they're supposed to be as easy mice! I've got the incubator ready and everything.... I know I've got the food/lighting/housing thing right...it's this male/female thing that I think is the problem..

try feeding them meal worms if one of them gets it and doesn't eat it and holds the meal worm while making a sound. that sound is him calling the female it's him showing love to her if another quail comes to take away and eats it then that one is the female. also i want to mention that after getting adult quail it takes some time for them to get use to it's new home then it will lay egg they like to build a nest in a corner with soft kind of bedding i use care fresh and it works great with my quails. i also use old empty baby wipe plastic boxes. last thing i wanted to mention is that male button quail that are full adult's have red feathers on there behinds and red eye's hope this info helps good luck.
