Hello!
Either you have not registered on this site yet, or you are registered but have not logged in. In either case, you will not be able to use the full functionality of this site until you have registered, and then logged in after your registration has been approved.
Registration is FREE, so please register so you can participate instead of remaining a lurker....
Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

Need help with cannibalistic green conda!
I bought a baby male green anaconda at the 4-22 Hamburg show. For the past month he's steadfastly refused every type of rodent I've offered him. Last night on a whim I decided to put him with a bci of the same size as him hoping that maybe competition might trigger some sort of feeding response..well it did, but it wasn't the rat pup he that he decided looked tasty (they were immediately separated and the bci wasn't injured). I've never been in this situation before so I have a few questions. First is there a market anywhere for "feeder reptiles"? What's the best way to get a snake interested in rodents instead of other snakes? Any advice or proven scenting techniques would be very helpful. Thanks for looking.

He's not showing any particular interest in the mouse in snake's skin yet. Maybe he'll change his mind over night. Any other ideas?

try wetting the (shed)skin slightly and rubbing it on the prey item...
another option is (if you can) get the other boa to bite the head of the prey item, then offer it

If you can get him do to it without eating it, lol. If not, you can try just scenting on it. (much easier with defrosted rodents, lol)

The boa shed recently and his skin was the perfect size to fit around the mouse. I wet the skin down and slid it over the mouse..kinda like a snake skin prophylactic. The boa won't be any help to me with biting..he's been a super picky feeder since birth. I'll see if I can convince the iguana to help me out with some saliva. I'm starting to miss that gator..

About 30 yrs ago I had an anaconda and I used to feed it whole mackeral from the local fish market. Anyway, they seem to like fish. It also ate bull frogs, this was before I knew there was a problem feeding wild caught animals.
They definately prey on boas in the wild because I remember I put a boa that was about the same size with her one day, while I was cleaning its cage, and the boa went crazy trying to get out. I didn't do that again.
