Fader Gene

I have some questions about the Fader Gene. I was wondering everyone's opinion on it. I have heard many different things about them on whether or not its a seperate gene or is part of the pastel gene. Any thoughts or information would be helpful.

I'm curious too, bumping to see if any thoughts. My snakes occasionally lose or change colors as they shed, the fader sounds like an extreme version of this. Does it only occur in Pastels?

general consensus seem to put it as a polygenetic trait. In other words it is not a single gene causing it, but multiple genes together causing it.

Same reason why we have bright yellow pastels and dull ones, The pastel gene is monogenetic, but the varying color is the polygenetic part.
