What Tortoise is best?

So, I've wanted a tortoise door a very long time. I now have the means to get one. I always thought that I wanted a Sulcata, but after doing some more research I'm worried about the size they get.

I live in North Mississippi. This will be my first tortoise but not my first reptile as I currently have 3 different snake species as well as 2 different gecko species.

What Tortoise species stays relatively small (smaller then a Sulcata,) is good for a Tortoise newbie & costs under 100$?

Thank you so much for the help!

Russian tortoises stay small and are very hardy. While they sometimes go for less than $100, be aware that the setup will cost quite a lot more than that. Not an inexpensive upfront investment. If you want a captive bred baby, be prepared to pay more like $100-150, as the less expensive animals will be imports and probably need parasite treatment. Greek and Hermann's tortoises are also good choices, but they will run more like $150-200.

I have a setup already put together. It's not a tortoise table but one of the large cement mixing tubs from HD. I already had almost everything needed for it just lying around. The only thing I don't have for it is light bulbs and food for said tortoise.

So it seems I won't be able to get a Tortoise at the Repticon Show this weekend unless I get lucky.
