I just bought a kenyan sand boa and right now i have it on aspen.I am looking to get him on something he can build better burrows with.I have heard of people using a sand/soil mix and also a sand/aspen mix, does anyone here keep these?I am getting conflicting info just searching some say certain subs will cause impaction some say otherwise.

Don't know a whole lot about them, but if they are called sand boas, that could be a subtle hint right there.

We have a forum here for rosy and sand boas. Here's the link.

Maybe you'll get more help there.

They are called sand boas but from what i understand the name is a little misleading. From what i have heard they don't necessarily live in the sand like their name implies. Thanks for the link i didn't know that was here.

I used to keep mine on Aspen... worked the best for me, they tunnel in it nicely, and you can actually see them. another alternative is the crushed walnut shells you can get... looks like sand, but a little better in my opinion. I personally would stick with the Aspen...
