baby SIGB's

Thanks everyone! Chris I'll keep you posted on what they eat. They all shed this morning.

Helen, there were 10 total which included; 2 infertile ova, 2 still born, & the 6 pictured.

Thanks Daniel!

* UPDATE *

As of today, 04/16/13, 3 out of 5 babies have eaten small live green tree frogs. I had 6 to begin with, but lost one. I'll most likely have to forcefeed the last two holdouts so that they have ingested something. I guess it could be worse...

Great that they've started eating for you, hope the more stubborn ones start soon.

How many days after birth did you start to offer food?

Also when you say "lost" one , do you mind sharing details? I'm interested in survival rates of Candioa species in general, since I lost a lot of C. bibroni a couple of years back.

Candoia

* Update *

As of today, 04/24/13, 4 out of 5 have eaten live green tree frogs.

Helen, I'm not 100% sure why I lost the one baby, with them being so small its really hard to say.

I didn't start offering them food until the 10-14 day mark. A few of them would constrict & kill anoles, but the lizards were too big for them to eat. Thge really small anoles aren't running around yet as it is still the dry season here.

Thanks Jay, all information is a help.

I find my Candoia babies will take larger gecko tails if there aren't enough small whole animals around - just a thought.
