They are in a petri dish, inside a tupperware container with a moist peice of paper towel at the bottom of the container. I keep them at room temperature, and I keep the container closed at night and open during the day, so they stay moist but also get enough air flow.
This is their very first clutch. I raised them up from little bitty froglets!
They're about 13 months old now.
And yes- up until a few weeks ago, I only misted their tank every few day. Then I began decreasing their photoperiod from 12 hours of light to 9-10 hours, and I also began misting them everyday. It only took about 2 weeks of this before I found the eggs.
I'm very excited that they are fertile and developing - it's common for darts to lay a few bad/infertile clutches before "getting it right", but my little guys got it done right the very first time!
I'm waiting on more eggs too. There are two other females in the group that will probably start laying too. Not sure which female laid the clutch, but one of my females is HUGE! She looks like she's about to explode! So I'm expecting eggs from her any day now.
Thanks for asking! I love talking about my frogs!!
