What brands of Thermo/Hydro meters?
Going to be probably re-doing most of the hardware in my snake cages, got the cages when I was really tight on money so the stuff in there is pretty low quality... Analog and digital thermometers are reading way off from one another and I don't really know which to trust, so what brands / specific products would you recommend?
Currently I'm using Flukers Thermo-hydrometer, two generic analog thermometers, and a ReptiTemp 500R thermostat. The thermostat is the only thing that's probed.
Wanting to switch to a good Thermo-Hydrometer in the center of the tank, with two probe'd thermometers at each end to measure hot/cool side, and heard quite a bit about Ranco thermostats being excellent quality. Worth the switch?
Currently housing a Redtail Boa, California Kingsnake, two Jungle Carpet Pythons, and a Dwarf Reticulated Python, wanting to get a GTP/ETB in the future, so starting to do some research on what pieces make the snake cages operate like clockwork and which can't be relied on at all...
Also, question about the thermostats: Where do the probes go? Right now I have it sitting near the thermo-hydrometer so the ambient temperature stays where it needs to be. Normally (assuming all devices are 100% accurate) this results in the hot side being low 90's to high 80's, and the cool side being low 80's.
