My first baby boas of 2005

For whatever reason, known only to the boa gods, my girls seem to be running later then usual this year in their birthing efforts.

I took advantage of a beautiful day yesterday and let some of them enjoy a little free time in the back yard cruising around a water misting unit.

I guess getting out and stretching the bones helped, as I was rewarded with a beautiful litter of bouncing baby boas this morning.

Just had to share!

Talking Congrats Mike!!!

Nice looking boas.. I have three females ready to go anydaym and it's driving me NUTS!!!! I would let mine cruise around the yard, butit has been 115 degrees, so i guess that would not be a good idea.. My boas are all running late this year alsom What's up with that???? Later Mike

I think it had more to do with being exposed to increased humidity. I know that one theory is that pregnant females will choose to give birth during precipitation in an effort to allow the rain to wash-out the evidence of birth which might attract predators. My females are runnnng late this year as well. Those are some nice lookin' boas.
